FAQs

What happens during the visit?

At the appointment, I will explain the process to everyone present while your pet gets used to my presence. I'll then give them a sedative that goes under the skin, like a vaccine. Most pets have very little reaction to this part and either snacks or attention are good distractions. After one to ten minutes, they will fall asleep and no longer be sensitive to pain stimuli. When you are both ready, I will give the final injection, a barbiturate overdose, IV. This first stops any remaining brain activity, then the respiration, and finally her heart. The whole process is generally quite peaceful for your pet.

Can the appointment take place outdoors?

Yes, I can perform the service outdoors, at a location of your choice, please indicate this when booking with me.

How will COVID safety be handled during the visit?

Everyone present needs to wear a mask. I have been vaccinated. Please keep guests to a minimum, and only invite those who have had no signs of illness or exposure in the last two weeks.
